Racing Ultras: My Approach

I run all of my races (ultras, marathons, half-marathons, mountains, trails, roads, etc):

  • in Vibram FiveFingers minimal footwear
  • consuming fresh fruit, celery, and water

I never use any of the following during my races, training or daily life:
  • stimulants (no caffeine)
  • painkillers (no Neurofen or Panadeine)
  • supplements (no salt capsules or salt)
  • drugs to keep me awake nor to enhance performance (no No Doze pills)
  • junk food or refined food (no coke, no confectionery)
  • powders, sports gels, or sports drinks
